Do you have a passion for STEM and want to create an impact? This might be the role for you.
We are currently looking for students in Year 11-13 to join the Birmingham Schools Science Network Committee, the driving force of the BSSN.
You do not need to be living in Birmingham to apply, as most of our work is completed virtually. Please also make sure that the teacher whose email address you have provided in the application form is happy to provide a reference for you; it is best to check with them first before submitting the form.
The main features of the role are outlined below:
- Attend virtual weekly progress meetings
- Write articles for event advertisements
- Create infographics for social media posts
- Attend virtual meetings with prospective speakers, schools and any other organisations
- Complete tasks to a tight deadline (24-48 hours), with a time commitment of 2-3 hours a week
- If selected, you must become a BSSN ambassador at your school*
We are looking for students who are reliable, committed and driven, with a passion for STEM. Successful applicants will be interviewed.
The deadline for all applications is Monday 20th March, 23:59.
Students will be informed of the initial outcome of their application by Thursday 23rd March.

*An ambassador will act as a point of contact between the BSSN team and the school. They will be responsible for ensuring events are advertised appropriately, and will be in charge of the BSSN Society and STEM project at their school.
