About

As of 2020, approximately 3 million people were living with cancer in the UK (ref. Macmillan Cancer Support). As one of the leading causes of death, cancer has been the subject of research for centuries; starting with Pott's discovery of chimney soot being a cause of squamous cell carcinoma in 1775. Cancer research is paramount in understanding the biological mechanisms of cancer onset and progression. Join this talk to explore the exciting world of cancer research.

Topics Covered:

  • Types and causes of cancer

  • The difficulties in finding a cure

  • The field of cancer research

  • The work of the Pepper Lab
